Truth to Power : Women Artists Speaking on the Importance of Activism, the Vote and Women’s Health
Please join AmandaLynn, Bud Snow and Kathryn St. Clair in conversation with Llisa Demetrios as they delve into the role of the artist and creative expression as a vital component of social activism.
The Zoom event will be to activate and inspire support of the Battle to Beat Breast Cancer campaign featuring a variety of events and performances that are helping to raise money to defeat women’s cancer. Support for Petaluma Art Center is also graciously accepted.

You: Portraits of the Most Powerful Nonviolent Tool We Have
This will be an opportunity to sit for a portrait and document how you are feeling in these challenging times as we face the upcoming election. Through Michael Woolsey's lens you are invited to express your feelings at this critical moment about the importance of your vote and of voting. "Power to the People" Music by DJVal at 10am! Dirty Cello will be performing at 11am!
Postcard Writing Action!
Partnering with the Petaluma Postcard Pod, the Petaluma Arts Center is hosting a socially distanced postcard writing event featuring the eight commissioned artworks now displayed on the outer walls of the Center.
Packets of 20 Get Out And Vote postcards and stamps will be available for $20.
Petaluma’s Participation in the Women’s Suffrage Movement
Our good friends at the Petaluma Museum are opening their exhibition celebrating the 100 year anniversary of women’s suffrage. Be sure to go see how our town participated in this crucial moment in our country’s history.
Sonoma County 2020 Women's Suffrage Project's Centennial Series
Streaming daily 5:30-6:30pm on Facebook and on Zoom. A collection of speakers will address topics such as Petaluma's participation in the historic suffrage movement, voting and census facts, Japanese and Hispanic viewpoints and experiences, and Intersectional Feminism. Get Out and Vote
On August 8th, the 8 ‘Get Out And Vote’ artworks will be installed on the outer walls of the Petaluma Arts Center for all to see. With social distancing guidelines in mind, stop by between 2:00pm and 5:00pm to see this public art unveiled and purchase the collection as postcards, posters and lawn signs. Supplies are limited, so be sure to visit our online store ahead of time.

If you haven’t brought your artwork in yet, or if you have something new to say, something to add, bring your piece by this Saturday afternoon and we will make sure it finds it’s place in the story.

We will be sponsoring a Paint In on the sidewalk in front of the Petaluma Arts Center to create pieces to add to our growing community artwork.
